Job summary

Nevada System of Higher Education seeks a dedicated inspector to ensure public safety and regulatory compliance through vehicle and infrastructure inspections in line with FMCSR, DOT, and OSHA standards.

You will perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections, verify Hours of Service and HazMat placarding, document findings in digital systems, and communicate clearly with drivers and the public, applying de-escalation when needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DOT/FMCSR and OSHA regulations.
• Ability to identify safety defects and violations.
• Experience with inspection tools and digital reporting.
• Excellent communication and de-escalation skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections aligned with FMCSR, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
• Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
