Dixie Overhead Door, a family-owned company since 1908, is seeking a full-time apprentice door service technician in Homewood, Alabama. You will assist with installing and servicing garage doors, provide preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot issues with a team that values integrity and professionalism.

The role requires physical work (up to 50 pounds), basic welding knowledge, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass drug and background checks.

Qualifications

• Welding and stick welding knowledge preferred.
• 0–2 years of experience with garage doors preferred.
• Lift up to 50 pounds; capable of moving heavy items with assistance or devices.
• Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment including a tape measure.
• Basic knowledge of electrical installation, maintenance and repair.
• Valid driver's license.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Pass drug test, background check, driving record check, and physical fitness test.

Requirements

• Demonstrate knowledge and skills of welding and stick welding preferred
• 0-2 years of experience working with garage doors preferred
• You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; be able to push, pull, carry or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices); carry ladders; work from heights, work in small spaces.
• Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment including a tape measure required.
• You must be able to skillfully work with hands and have good craftmanship.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge and skills for electrical installation, maintenance, repair of electrical systems, and equipment.
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to pass a drug test, background check, driving record check, and physical fitness test.
