Job summary

Door Fixer Upper is seeking a skilled Door Repair Technician to service residential and light commercial doors in the Blaine, MN area. You will diagnose issues, adjust components for proper closing and sealing, and perform repairs to ensure doors operate smoothly and safely.

You will replace weather stripping, hinges, and hardware, remove and install doors as needed, and communicate with customers while maintaining a clean work area.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience adjusting doors so they close and latch properly.
• Ability to replace weather stripping and related seals on exterior doors.
• Experience removing and installing doors.
• Comfort using basic hand and power tools, including drills, levels, chisels, and saws.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift doors and materials and work on ladders or steps as needed.
• Strong attention to fit, finish, and customer property.

Responsibilities

• Replace weather stripping, thresholds, sweeps, and related sealing materials
• Adjust doors for proper closing, including hinges, strike plates, closers, and alignment
• Remove and install interior and exterior doors, including pre-hung units when needed
• Repair or replace hardware such as locks, handles, hinges, and door closers
• Inspect frames, jambs, and slabs for damage and recommend the right fix
• Measure openings, order or cut materials to fit, and leave the work area clean
• Explain the work clearly to customers and complete simple service notes
