Job summary

PARR is seeking a dependable Driver to deliver building materials from a millworks facility to jobsites across weather conditions. You will load/unload, drive safely, log mileage, and capture delivery photos while maintaining excellent customer relations.

A DOT medical card is required or obtainable, and a Class C license with a clean record is essential. This role emphasizes safety, punctuality, and professional appearance.

Qualifications

• Class C license and clean driving record required.
• 21+ years old and fluent English reading/writing.
• DOT medical card or eligibility to obtain one.
• Knowledge of safety audits and federal/state rules.
• Familiarity with GPS or maps, strong communication.
• Preference for driving within 50 miles of location.

Responsibilities

• Safely load/unload building materials from the truck.
• Deliver to destinations and maintain on-time, in-full service.
• Document mileage, fuel usage, and required paperwork.
• Take photos of deliveries and perform pre/post-trip inspections.
• Maintain professional relationships with customers and vendors.
• Ensure proper tie-downs, weight/height/length compliance.
• Keep truck, yard, and vehicle clean; participate in training.

Job description

Pay: $25.60 - $30.30

At PARR, our Drivers are essential to fulfilling the needs of our customers by making sure they are receiving their orders on-time and in great condition. The ideal driver is someone driven to maintain safety regulations and above and beyond customer service.

Depending on the location, the Door & Millwork Driver reports directly to the General Manager, Production Manager, or Shop Foreman and interacts daily with customers, dispatchers, receivers, and load-builders.

Qualifications

• Class C Driver’s License and must have and maintain a good driving record required
• Must be 21 years old or over
• Ability to speak, write, and read English required
• Current DOT Medical Card or must obtain DOT medical card as condition of employment
• Knowledge of vehicle safety audits and reports of any malfunctioning equipment as required by Federal and State regulations and company policy
• Open and transparent communication
• Familiarity with GPS devices or map applications
• Driving experience within 50-mile radius of primary location preferred

Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently load and unload building materials from commercial motor vehicle
• Legally, safely, and efficiently travel to destinations through public and private roads
• Complete mileage and fuel usage reports
• Demonstrates commitment to on-time and in-full deliveries
• Follow delivery procedures by taking photos of the delivered shipment after completing each delivery
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of all equipment
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers, contractors, and vendors
• Perform required safety audit of vehicle (daily safety audits, weekly brake inspections) and promptly report any malfunctioning equipment as required by Federal and state regulations and company policy
• Promptly report all accidents/incidents
• Annually update driver’s qualification file as required by Federal and state regulations and company policy
• Maintain yard, warehouse, and vehicle cleanliness during the course of work
• Finds productive work to do in downtime
• Keeps truck supplied, organized, and clean
• Comes to work professionally attired
• Checks load for accuracy
• Proactively manages job site conditions for the next delivery and communicates with others
• Always provides required paperwork and scanning for dispatch
• Seeks to learn products and their application for the end users
• Learns and follows established best practices
• Learns from mistakes and accepts coaching as opportunities
• Demonstrates legal and thorough knowledge of tie down rules and regs
• Understands weight, height, and length limits
• Ensures that all material transported on the truck has either an invoice or Material Returns Form
• Continues to participate in training as available
• Learning best practices related to efficient loading, strapping, and driving

This position will be working at a millworks facility and delivering to jobsites in all weather conditions.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 90 lbs.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to sit for an extended period of time
