Job summary

PARR is seeking a dependable Door & Millwork Driver to ensure timely and secure deliveries of building materials across the local area. You’ll load, transport, and unload materials while maintaining safety standards and accurate delivery records.

The role requires a Class C license, 21+ years old, and a DOT medical card. You will interact with customers daily and collaborate with dispatch and shop staff to uphold Legendary Service.

Qualifications

  • Class C driver's license required and maintain good driving record.
  • Must be 21+ years old.
  • Ability to speak, write, and read English.
  • Current DOT Medical Card or must obtain one as a condition of employment.
  • Knowledge of vehicle safety audits and regulatory reports.
  • Open and transparent communication.
  • Familiarity with GPS devices or mapping apps.
  • Driving experience within 50-mile radius of primary location preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely load and unload building materials from a commercial vehicle.
  • Travel to destinations via public and private roads.
  • Complete mileage and fuel usage reports.
  • Deliveries on time and in full; take photos after each delivery.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Maintain professional relationships with customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Report accidents/incidents and keep the vehicle clean and organized.
  • Support training and follow best practices for loading and driving.

Job description

PARR is the total source for homebuilding supplies, solutions, and services. We focus on supplying building materials and solutions to professional home builders of all sizes including custom builders, large production builders, and multifamily builders. Pay: $25.60 - $30.30 At PARR, our Drivers are essential to fulfilling the needs of our customers by making sure they are receiving their orders on-time and in great condition. The ideal driver is someone driven to maintain safety regulations and above and beyond customer service. Depending on the location, the Door & Millwork Driver reports directly to the General Manager, Production Manager, or Shop Foreman and interacts daily with customers, dispatchers, receivers, and load-builders.

Qualifications
  • Class C Driver's License and must have and maintain a good driving record required
  • Must be 21 years old or over
  • Ability to speak, write, and read English required
  • Current DOT Medical Card or must obtain DOT medical card as condition of employment
  • Knowledge of vehicle safety audits and reports of any malfunctioning equipment as required by Federal and State regulations and company policy
  • Open and transparent communication
  • Familiarity with GPS devices or map applications
  • Driving experience within 50-mile radius of primary location preferred
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Safely and efficiently load and unload building materials from commercial motor vehicle
  • Legally, safely, and efficiently travel to destinations through public and private roads
  • Complete mileage and fuel usage reports
  • Demonstrates commitment to on-time and in-full deliveries
  • Follow delivery procedures by taking photos of the delivered shipment after completing each delivery
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of all equipment
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers, contractors, and vendors
  • Perform required safety audit of vehicle (daily safety audits, weekly brake inspections) and promptly report any malfunctioning equipment as required by Federal and state regulations and company policy
  • Promptly report all accidents/incidents
  • Annually update driver's qualification file as required by Federal and state regulations and company policy
  • Maintain yard, warehouse, and vehicle cleanliness during the course of work
  • Finds productive work to do in downtime
  • Keeps truck supplied, organized, and clean
  • Comes to work professionally attired
  • Checks load for accuracy
  • Proactively manages job site conditions for the next delivery and communicates with others
  • Always provides required paperwork and scanning for dispatch
  • Seeks to learn products and their application for the end users
  • Learns and follows established best practices
  • Learns from mistakes and accepts coaching as opportunities
  • Demonstrates legal and thorough knowledge of tie down rules and regs
  • Understands weight, height, and length limits
  • Ensures that all material transported on the truck has either an invoice or Material Returns Form
  • Continues to participate in training as available
  • Learning best practices related to efficient loading, strapping, and driving
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to pass DOT pre-placement physical
  • Must be able to lift up to 90 lbs.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to sit for an extended period of time
