Job summary

Rhode Island Blood Center (RIBC) drives mobile blood collection programs across Rhode Island, coordinating setup, transport, and take-down at drives. You will ensure safe handling of blood products and build relationships with hospitals and sponsors to meet life-saving goals.

Qualified drivers with clean licenses and DOT awareness will contribute to a vital community service, with opportunities for growth and a $2,500 sign-on bonus to join the team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2-3 years of truck or bus driving experience preferred.
• A valid/clean driver’s license.
• Ability to meet Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
• Demonstrated experience driving a straight truck and cargo van and non-cdl bus.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and accurately follow instructions.
• Must be flexible to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

• Support Blood Drive Operations: Help set up and take down mobile blood drives with ease and efficiency.
• Manage Blood Transport: Safely transport and deliver blood and blood products from drives to ensure they reach their destination in top condition.
• Assist and Serve: Provide excellent customer service to clients, donors, and team members by building strong partnerships with hospitals, drive sponsors, and staff.

About therole:

We’re looking for a dedicated driver who will be instrumental in achieving our blood collection goals and supporting our life-saving mission.

In this role, you will be on the front lines, ensuring the efficient setup, operation, and takedown of mobile blood drives. You will use your communication and customer service skills to build strong relationships with hospital and vendor staff as you deliver and transport blood and blood products. A successful driver will also need exceptional problem-solving skills to manage weather-related driving challenges and report any issues to management. Every day, you will make a measurable difference by helping save lives through safe and efficient transport of blood donations.
