Job summary

South Puget Sound Habitat for Humanity in Olympia, Washington seeks a Development Coordinator to manage annual fund activities, donor events, and database records, supporting donor cultivation, reporting, and community awareness to secure resources for affordable housing across Thurston and Lewis counties.

The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, proficient with donor CRM systems, and able to coordinate logistics for events such as Women Build and Habitat Gala.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience using donor databases or CRM systems for recordkeeping, reporting, and fundraising support
  • Minimum of three years of fundraising, sales, or administrative management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate, timely, and consistent donor and fundraising records
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize competing tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and formatting skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, community partners, vendors, and colleagues
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Commitment to the Habitat for Humanity mission

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate annual fund activities, including mailings, events, donor lists, and other requests for support
  • Build relationships with donors and cultivate support through timely acknowledgements, stewardship activities, and prospect research
  • Provide project and timeline management for assigned fundraising, stewardship, and community events
  • Coordinate event logistics, agendas, attendance tracking, vendors, materials, hospitality, supplies, and other operational needs
  • Support the planning and execution of key events, including Women Build, Habitat Gala, Pride Build, Veterans Build, and other events
  • Coordinate logistics for outreach efforts, external meetings, and presentations
  • Manage in‑kind donation inquiries and related gift coordination
  • Maintain accurate donor records in the CRM, including donor contact information, interactions, and other relevant activity
  • Process and acknowledge donor gifts promptly and ensure gifts are recorded accurately in the CRM
  • Run reports and prepare year‑end tax reporting documents
  • Assist with regular fundraising reporting and ensure accurate information sharing across departments
  • Support donor lists, segmentation, reporting, and other data needs for appeals, events, stewardship, and communications
  • Provide administrative support for the senior director of advancement and individual giving manager
  • Manage the advancement team meeting and schedules, including notetaking
  • Report to the team on fundraising metrics, challenges, and successes
  • Create and sustain strong working partnerships with other members of the team and contribute to the culture of teamwork and collaboration
  • Maintain a “team first” outlook, supporting the success of the team and the mission in attitude, ideas, and actions; lead by example and with active, creative input for growing and improving the organization
  • Meet and endorse organization standards for record keeping and information sharing
  • Contribute to organization events, helping as necessary with set up/take down, management, networking, various tasks, etc.
  • Participate in intentional learning efforts, including events relating to understanding institutional racism and building cultural competency
