Job summary

Connecticut Community Foundation is seeking a Development Officer to strengthen donor engagement and fundraising efforts across Greater Waterbury and the Litchfield Hills.

You will cultivate donors, coordinate giving circle activities, and work with the Director of Development and Advancement to support annual, major, and planned giving initiatives. This role emphasizes community impact and collaboration with staff and volunteers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three to five years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or related field.
• Demonstrated success building and maintaining meaningful relationships with donors, clients, volunteers, or community stakeholders.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Excellent organizational, project management, and follow-through skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems.
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship across annual, major, and planned giving.
• Conduct regular donor visits and maintain relationships with donors, fundholders, and prospects.
• Prepare donor communications, proposals, fund agreements, and stewardship reports.
• Collaborate with leadership on donor strategies and solicitations.
• Ensure timely donor acknowledgement and recognition across programs.
• Maintain accurate donor records and activity reports in the CRM system.
