Job Description:

The Donor Relations Coordinator will execute Dunwoody's stewardship program and explore opportunities to enhance the donor experience at Dunwoody College of Technology. This program will provide appropriate recognition for our donors by reinforcing their value and strengthening their connection to the College. This role will work closely with gift officers on crafting unique plans for individuals with high giving potential. The Donor Relations Coordinator will also lead stewardship events. The individual in this position will have a versatile skill set that supports relationship building, collaboration, project management, storytelling, and content creation. This position will be a member of the Development team and report to the Director of Development and Alumni Relations.

Donor Relations 70%
  • Assist with implementing a comprehensive stewardship program, including production management of impact, scholarship, endowment, and individual donor reports.
  • Plan, execute, and track donor journeys for annual giving, endowed fund, and legacy society donors, including strategies to welcome donors and increase retention.
  • Identify opportunities to create compelling stories, narratives, and content highlighting donor impact on campus and on Dunwoody students for use on Dunwoody websites, donor reports and other Institutional Advancement communication outlets. This will include scholarships and other gifts.
  • Communicate with donors by phone, mail, or email to complete thank you calls.
  • Create and send scholarship stewardship communications to donors.
  • Update donor acknowledgment procedures to ensure a high standard of communication between Dunwoody College of Technology and donors. That includes updating gift receipts, acknowledgement mailings, and other donor relations content.
  • Work with Gift Officers to create and implement specialized individual donor Custom Engagement Plans (CEPs), as well as CEPs for targeted donor groups. Maintain standard division-wide CEP procedures.
  • Maintain clear stewardship procedures to clearly communicate to Institutional Advancement staff donor communication standards.
  • Gain and maintain fluency concerning important donors, fundraiser activity, and overall donor base.
  • Provide clear and comprehensive communication to the Institutional Advancement team concerning stewardship and work via consistent feedback requests, inclusion of concerned staff on projects, and active communication.
Stewardship and Recognition Event Management 20%
  • Engage in full-cycle planning and delivery of stewardship and recognition events including student-focused. engagement and donor events, legacy giving society events, and donor-involved events on campus.
  • Coordinate with marketing department for promotional event materials, including digital and print materials.
  • Schedule pre-event planning meetings with Institutional Advancement team and other constituents to collect input on messaging, audience, and other strategic elements of the event.
  • Schedule post-event debrief meetings to collect feedback on outcomes of the event, identify opportunities for future events, and maintain records and procedures of the events to help with future planning.
  • Coordinate with facilities on logistics, equipment/space needs, and work with internal and external vendors for on-campus and off-campus events.
  • Determine and coordinate staffing needs for individual events.
  • Manage event logistics including technology arrangements, name tags, data entry, staging of events, and general event oversight.
  • Coordinate registration forms on Raiser's Edge (RE) OLX and ensure website integration, maintaining accurate and user-friendly access to registration processes.
Additional Development Support 10%
  • Attend and assist with all Institutional Advancement Events.
  • Crosstrain to serve as back up for Advancement Operations processes as needed.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Development and fundraising experience with demonstrated success in stewardship practices.
  • Experience creating content for a variety of uses across different platforms.
  • Project management experience, especially the ability to plan, coordinate, communicate, and evaluate activities required to achieve Institutional Advancement goals.
  • Excellent demonstrated written and oral communication skills (writing samples required upon request) that support building relationships and collaboration.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of higher education and appreciation of the culture of technical higher education preferred.
  • Proficiency with customer relationship management (CRM) software; Raiser's Edge or RE NXT a plus.
  • Knowledge of mass communication principles, media, and marketing techniques preferred.
