Job summary

Community Blood Center in Missouri is seeking a Donor Room Assistant to support donor care and blood collection operations. You will interview donors, assess eligibility, perform finger-stick hemoglobin, monitor vital signs, and ensure safe, comfortable procedures.

The role requires strong customer service, precise documentation, data entry, and the ability to work flexible hours. A high school diploma is required; Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy certification is preferred, with valid licenses

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant degree preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Experience in health-related field and phlebotomy is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs donor interview and evaluates donor suitability per SOP.
• Determines donor hemoglobin by finger-stick sample.
• Measures donor vital signs and documents results.
• Performs blood collection procedures per SOPs and quality control.
• Ensures donor safety and comfort post-donation and reports complications.
