A leading organization dedicated to building a just democracy is seeking a part-time Donor Organizer for Politics & Elections. The role involves strategic fundraising, growing donor networks, and promoting advocacy efforts, particularly for key electoral battles. Ideal candidates will have significant fundraising experience, a commitment to social justice, and excellent relationship-building skills.
About the Democracy Alliance
The Democracy Alliance (DA), founded in 2005, is a donor community of individual philanthropists, foundations, and labor unions committed to democracy and a progressive future. The DA invests in building the progressive infrastructure in the United States by filling gaps, providing catalytic funding, and resourcing social change, all aimed at creating a just, equitable, feminist, multiracial democracy that works for all.
The DA recently completed a strategic planning process that established a new 10-year vision, grounded in current political opportunities and the need for long-term strategies and resources. Our vision emphasizes racial, gender, and economic justice, a thriving climate, and reaffirms the DA’s role as a convenor, resource aggregator, and community builder.
The DA serves as a powerful convener—a forum where leading progressive donors, foundations, and organized labor strategize together to leverage shared power and drive resources for democracy. We host two flagship conferences annually, bringing together 150–400 donors, movement leaders, and elected officials for learning, collaboration, and planning. Throughout the year, we also offer numerous learning events to build capacity and foster connections across our network.
About the Role: Donor Organizer - Politics & Elections
The DA seeks a seasoned, creative, and connected fundraising strategist to support our advocacy and electoral priorities, especially grassroots congressional accountability efforts in 2025 and efforts to win the House in 2026. This includes aggressive fundraising for Battleground NY, a coalition that successfully flipped crucial seats in NY and aimed to win the House, raising over $11M last cycle. This role is ideal for a skilled organizer and political fundraiser committed to organizing donors to protect democracy and build a just, feminist, multiracial democracy. The role also involves cultivating long-term progressive donor support across key states and nationwide, requiring collaboration, initiative, and a proactive approach.
