Job summary

Goodwill Southeast Georgia in Savannah, GA seeks a Donor Greeter to provide friendly customer service, greet donors, assist with unloading donations, issue receipts, and help maintain organized records.

Under supervision of the Store Manager, you will process donations within 24 hours, maintain a clean drive-through and work area, and support security and safety practices while serving the community.

Qualifications

• HS diploma/GED or equivalent required.
• Good eyesight and color definition.
• Ability to hear in a noisy environment.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to quickly assess goods and determine routing.
• Functional reading and writing skills.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors in a prompt, friendly manner and assist unloading donations.
• Provide tax receipts and maintain accurate daily donation counts.
• Break down donations into categories and keep areas organized.
• Maintain drive-through and work area in a clean condition.
• Transport trash and operate compactor as needed.
• Follow safety and security practices and report hazards.
• Provide excellent customer service to all customers.
• Ensure donations are processed within 24 hours.
• Attend training and perform assigned duties by store management.
• Support additional duties to help the organization’s mission.
• Participate in activities outside of Goodwill when needed.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under the direct supervision of Store Manager or designee, is responsible for customer service, facility security and maintenance, greeting and assisting donors, breakdown of donations and the maintenance of accurate donor records.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ensures 100% donor and customer delight.

2. Greets donors in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner; assist to unload donations from vehicles, offer tax receipts, maintain accurate daily counts of donations.

3. Breaks-down donations into categories.

4. Maintains drive-through and work area in a clean and organized manner.

5. Transports trash to compactor/dumpster and operate compactor as needed.

6. Adheres to all retail and personnel policies and procedures; follow good safety and security practices including reporting safety hazards and injuries store management.

7. Responsible for performing assigned duties:

• * Provide excellent customer service to all of our customers.
• * Keep all work areas clean, neat, and organized.
• * All donations should be processed within 24 hours.
• * If you have a pile, you have a problem.
• * Hard goods should be priority processed.

8. May be asked to participate in activities outside of Goodwill.

9. Attends in-service and related training as assigned by management.

10. Performs other duties as assigned by store management.

11. Accomplishes retail and organization mission by completing related assignments as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

• * HS diploma/GED or any job-related experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities to be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
• * Possess good eyesight and color definition.
• * Ability to hear sounds and verbal instructions in a nosey environment.
• * Good interpersonal communication skills.
• * Ability to quickly assess goods and determine appropriate routing.
• * Functional reading and writing skills.
• * Ability to work a flexible schedule determined by store needs; typical retail hours to include evenings, weekends and holidays.
