Job summary

Monell Chemical Senses Center seeks an Advancement Outreach and Engagement Manager to organize donor engagement activities, manage events, and collaborate with leadership to highlight Monell’s scientific impact.

You will translate scientific findings for donors, develop materials, and coordinate across departments to advance fundraising initiatives. This is a full-time on-site role in Philadelphia, with occasional travel and evening commitments as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Background in biopharmaceutical, life sciences, or health innovation sectors and/or bridging scientific research with philanthropic audiences.
• Ability to translate complex scientific concepts into compelling narratives for non-scientific audiences.
• Experience developing donor-facing materials (pitch decks, case statements, impact reports, presentations).
• Engage directly with scientists to understand priorities and develop external materials.
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage timelines and multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute donor stewardship events for individual and institutional funders.
• Create donor engagement strategies and touchpoints to build affinity and giving.
• Support donor and corporate solicitation efforts in coordination with philanthropy leadership.
• Coordinate messaging with communications and philanthropy teams for campaigns and events.
