Qualifications

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions with minimal supervision.
• Licensed in Alaska to operate trucks used by The Salvation Army.
• Ability to read maps, plan routes, and use a two-way radio.
• Provide prompt, courteous customer service to internal and external customers.
• Current Alaska driver’s license with acceptable driving history.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily routing based on store drop-offs of processed material.
• Perform daily truck inspections, checking fluids and overall equipment condition.
• Assist with loading and unloading of merchandise.
• Support production needs with the Thrift Store Manager, including receiving, sorting, pricing, and stocking.
• Operate Salvation Army vehicle to collect donations and transport to disposal sites, keeping vehicle clean.
• Represent the Salvation Army and ensure courteous customer interactions.
• Maintain warehouse/thrift store cleanliness inside and out.
• Assist with making and loading recycle bales.
• Support loss prevention by reporting incidents to management promptly.
• Identify safety hazards and protect property, vehicles, and buildings.
• Instruct and supervise ride-along helpers during loading/unloading with good work habits.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
