Job summary

Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region is seeking a Full-Time Warehouse/Donations Assistant in Mooresville, NC. You will help unload donations, load purchases, and keep the back room and donation dock organized by efficiently moving merchandise to and from the sales floor.

The role requires physical work, ability to lift heavy items, and occasional forklift operation. A pre-employment drug screen and background check are required, with federal funding support for some activities.

Qualifications

• Ability to move and lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Ability to move and lift at least 75 lbs with assistance.
• Ability to work outdoors in all climates.
• Ability to obtain Forklift Certification and operate a forklift on a regular basis.
• Ability to climb steps to Forklift cab.
• Ability to move and stand for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in unloading donations, loading purchases, keeping the back room and donation dock organized by efficiently moving merchandise to and from the sales floor.
• Ensure that each customer and donor receive outstanding service.
• Guarantee safe and prompt loading and unloading of customers donated or purchased merchandise.
• Guarantee safe and prompt loading and unloading of Restore trucks.
• Maintain safe procedures while moving merchandise to and from the sales floor.
• Inform customers of our donations acceptance policy; refer donors to alternate options for those items that we do not accept.
• Be an effective team member when working with staff and volunteers.
