Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Production Assistant / Driver in Kansas City, MO. This full-time role blends warehouse tasks with safe driving to collect and transport donated goods for the ARC mission.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma, a clean driving record, a DOT-compliant license, and the ability to pass DOT physicals and background checks. Flexible hours include weekends.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of licensed driving experience operating trucks or similar vehicles.
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid state driver’s license with a clean MVR; DOT-compliant license for box truck; Medical Examiner’s Certificate; pass DOT physical, drug screen, background check.

Responsibilities

• Represent The Salvation Army courteously to donors.
• Safely operate a DOT-regulated box truck for pickups/deliveries.
• Load/unload donations with care and maintain vehicle organization.
• Follow routes and schedules using dispatch tools (DSS / iPad).
• Maintain communication with dispatch, warehouse, and supervisors.
• Support program beneficiaries through work-therapy guidance.
• Perform daily pre/post-trip inspections for safety equipment.
