Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and meet NC DMV regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely transportation of donations, merchandise, and materials between thrift stores and the Shallotte Warehouse.
  • Assist with loading/unloading and safe handling of items.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of warehouse spaces and vehicles.
  • Inspect vehicles and report safety issues promptly.
  • Support warehouse operations including sorting, staging, and movement of merchandise.
  • Coordinate with store leadership regarding inventory needs and transfers.
  • Assist with donation pickups and customer deliveries as assigned.
  • Ensure proper recycling, trash, and metal disposal per CRCI standards.
  • Maintain communication regarding delivery schedules and updates.
  • Represent CRCI professionally in all interactions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve transportation routes and warehouse flow.
  • Support emergency operational needs between locations.

Overview: As a growing 501 C3, Non-profit organization, CRCI is always looking for new talented individuals who can be an addition to its efforts. It is CRCI’s Management's desire that each person involved with the organization (paid or not paid) has a burden for the lost, the sick, and the suffering. It is also important that all staff recognize that they are a representative of CRCI, and the actions will affect the community's outlook upon it. Staff is a representation of the CRCI program, and it will be expected for them to conduct themselves in a manner that would always promote and elevate the image of CRCI to the community. Any behavior that promotes a negative image of the organization is unacceptable.

Job Summary: The Donations Coordinator is responsible for transporting donations, merchandise, recycling, and operational materials between CRCI Thrift Store locations and the Shallotte Warehouse. This position supports daily warehouse operations, assists with store transfers and deliveries, and works closely with the Warehouse Manager to help maintain efficient operations between locations.

Duties & Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure timely and accurate transportation of merchandise, donations, and operational materials between all thrift store locations and the Shallotte Warehouse.
  • Assist with loading and unloading furniture, donations, and merchandise while following proper safety procedures.
  • Help maintain organization and cleanliness of warehouse spaces, donation areas, trailers, and company vehicles.
  • Conduct routine inspections of company vehicles and report maintenance concerns or safety issues promptly.
  • Support warehouse operations by assisting with sorting, staging, and movement of merchandise as needed.
  • Coordinate with store leadership regarding inventory needs, overflow merchandise, and scheduled transfers.
  • Assist with donation pickups and customer deliveries when assigned.
  • Ensure all recycling, trash, and metal disposal procedures are completed in accordance with CRCI operational standards.
  • Maintain accurate communication regarding delivery schedules, delays, vehicle issues, and daily operational updates.
  • Represent CRCI professionally while interacting with staff, donors, customers, and community partners.
  • Follow all CRCI safety policies, driving expectations, and operational procedures while on duty.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve efficiency in transportation routes, warehouse flow, and store support operations.
  • Support emergency operational needs between locations, including urgent transfers, furniture movement, or staffing assistance when necessary.
  • Maintain accountability for company equipment, keys, fuel cards, trailers, and transportation assets assigned to the role.
  • Service the Sunset and Holden thrift stores by taking items processed from the Shallotte Thrift Store Warehouse to both Sunset and Holden.
  • Bring donations from Sunset and Holden to the Shallotte Warehouse for processing.
  • Taking recycling, trash, and metal from thrift stores to the designated disposal areas.
  • Various other duties within the warehouse and deliveries when needed.
  • Maintain constant communication with Warehouse Manager
Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
  • Competent use of box trucks, GPS, phone systems, and warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to safely use equipment to maneuver large loads.
  • Ability to use ease of access equipment such as dolly’s and other items.
  • Communication skills for sharing CRCI’s mission and purpose, and interacting effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and varied languages.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Meet North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles regulations.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • This job operates in an open, warehouse retail environment and on both urban and rural streets.
  • This position is very active and requires and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, climbing, and lifting throughout the entire workday.
  • This employee must frequently lift, move, and/or load items over 50 pounds with mechanical assistance and/or a team lift.
