America's Thrift Stores in Opelika, AL is seeking a Non-CDL Donation Collection Helper to support our box truck route collection program. This role emphasizes safety, reliability, and courteous donor interactions as you assist with pickup and unloading of donations up to 70 pounds.

You'll work closely with the Box Truck Driver, help plan routes, and maintain clear records of donations while delivering excellent customer service in various weather conditions during regular hours plus occasional

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Successful completion of a background check.
• Strong customer service skills are essential.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
• Must regularly lift, carry, or push/pull up to 70 pounds.
• Capable of bending, stooping, crouching, and climbing stairs.
• Proficient in maintaining accurate records and communicating progress.
• Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Driver with collecting donations from box sites and donor homes.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to donors and customers.
• Support the Driver with navigation during routes and pickup operations.
• Communicate our mission and goals to donors and customers.
• Foster and maintain positive donor/public relationships.
• Contribute to upkeep and management of donation box sites and routes.
• Collaborate on route development and placement of donation boxes and trailers.
• Ensure donation sites and routes are clean and organized.
• Help with accurate record-keeping and tracking of routes and donations.
• Load and unload trucks and trailers safely and efficiently.
• Adapt to various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and wet environments.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
