Job summary

Hearts Thrift Stores in Niagara Falls, NY is seeking a Donation Processor and Receiver to help move donated items from donors to the sales floor. This role is essential to keeping our stores running smoothly while ensuring a respectful experience for every donor.

This part-time and full-time, in-person position offers a $16.50/hour pay, a fast-paced environment, and opportunities to work with volunteers. You will sort, price, tag, and assist donors, while supporting inventory and restocking as

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Reliable and punctual with consistent attendance.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Retail or sales experience preferred.
• Experience working with volunteers is a plus.
• Basic computer skills (POS systems, email, Google Docs, Microsoft Word).

Responsibilities

• Receive, sort, and price donated items for retail sale.
• Greet and assist donors in a friendly, professional manner.
• Help unload donations and issue donation receipts.
• Share the Hearts Thrift Stores mission and thank donors for their support.
• Screen donations and follow company guidelines for accepted and prohibited items.
• Identify quality merchandise and work with management on pricing when needed.
• Tag and stage merchandise for the retail team.
• Track and report daily production numbers and communicate any challenges.
• Keep donation, processing, and staging areas clean and organized.
• Assist with inventory needs and supply restocking.
• Provide clear direction when working with volunteers.
• Follow company policies, procedures, and code of conduct.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
