Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Illinois is seeking a part-time Donation Processing Associate to be the first point of contact for donors. You will greet donors, process and track donations, and keep the donation area clean and organized while supporting pickup logistics as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma (or current enrollment), strong English communication, basic computer and math skills, and the ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional donor service by greeting donors and offering assistance
• Process and track donations accurately
• Maintain a clean and well-organized donation area
• Sort, load, and unload Salvation Army trucks per center policy
• Power sort donations as they arrive (where applicable)
• Support production processes as needed
• Safeguard all donated materials and assigned equipment
• Report any complaints, damage, or injuries occurring in the donation area
• Guide donors on acceptable materials and provide information about pickup services for heavy items

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional donor service by greeting donors and offering assistance
• Process and track donations accurately
• Maintain a clean and well-organized donation area
• Sort, load, and unload Salvation Army trucks per center policy
• Power sort donations as they arrive (where applicable)
• Support production processes as needed

Physical Requirements

• Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds
• Occasionally lift and move up to 100 pounds

• Work in various weather conditions (outdoor exposure)

Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour

Status: Part-time up to 20 hours per week

Shift: 4:30pm-8:30pm

Must be available Sunday's from 10am-3pm
