VNA of the Treasure Coast in Vero Beach, Florida, is seeking a motivated Donation Driver & Sales Associate to support Hidden Treasures, move donations, run deliveries, assist customers at the store, and help keep the sales floor organized and inviting.

This highly physical, customer-facing role requires a current driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a willingness to perform both donation-driver and sales duties with safety and teamwork.

The Donation Driver & Sales Associate supports donation pickup, delivery, merchandise movement, and day-to-day retail operations for Hidden Treasures. The associate safely operates organization vehicles and performs the physical work necessary to move furniture, household goods, boxes, and other donations into and out of donor locations, onto and off vehicles, and into, around, and throughout the Hidden Treasures store.

When not completing pickups or deliveries, or as business needs require, the associate performs Sales Associate responsibilities, including assisting customers, operating the point-of-sale system, processing and organizing donations, merchandising, maintaining the sales floor, and supporting general store operations. This is a highly physical, customer-facing position requiring safe work practices, teamwork, dependability, sound judgment, and exceptional customer service. The associate demonstrates the VNA Core Values in all interactions.

Responsibilities:

Donation Pickup, Delivery & Transportation

• Safely operate Hidden Treasures vehicles to complete scheduled donation pickups, merchandise deliveries, and other assigned transportation needs.
• Enter donor homes, businesses, storage areas, and other pickup locations as necessary to retrieve approved donations and safely move merchandise from the donor location to the vehicle.
• Physically load, secure, transport, unload, and move furniture, household goods, boxes, and other donated merchandise while taking appropriate precautions to protect people, donor property, merchandise, and the vehicle.
• Evaluate donations against established acceptance guidelines and professionally and diplomatically decline items that Hidden Treasures cannot accept.
• Coordinate pickups and deliveries efficiently while providing timely, courteous communication to donors and customers.
• Maintain vehicles in a clean and safe condition; complete required pre-use checks and promptly report maintenance, safety, or operational concerns.
• Maintain accurate pickup, delivery, mileage, fuel, receipt, incident, and other required vehicle or transportation documentation.

Physical Merchandise Handling & Safety

• Regularly lift, carry, push, pull, maneuver, load, unload, and reposition furniture, household goods, boxes, and other merchandise as an essential function of the position.
• Move donations into and out of donor locations, onto and off delivery vehicles, and into, around, and throughout Hidden Treasures, including receiving, storage, processing, and sales-floor areas.
• Use dollies, hand trucks, carts, lift equipment, straps, and other approved material-handling equipment and follow team-lifting practices for large, bulky, or heavy items.
• Follow all safety procedures and immediately report injuries, vehicle incidents, property damage, accidents, hazards, or unsafe conditions to the appropriate leader.

Customer & Donor Experience

• Provide warm, professional, respectful, and responsive service to donors, customers, volunteers, fellow associates, and community members.
• Treat donor homes, businesses, property, and donated merchandise with care and respect and represent Hidden Treasures and the VNA positively in the community.
• Respond appropriately to questions, concerns, and service issues and involve a leader when additional assistance is needed.
• Perform Sales Associate responsibilities whenever needed, including greeting and assisting customers, answering questions, and supporting a positive shopping experience.
• Operate the point-of-sale system and process cash, credit card, and other approved transactions accurately; assist with register closeout or other cash-handling responsibilities when assigned.
• Receive, sort, process, price, tag, stock, rotate, and merchandise donations as assigned.
• Arrange furniture and merchandise, maintain displays, and help keep the sales floor, receiving, storage, and work areas clean, organized, attractive, and safe.
• Support store opening and closing activities and other day-to-day Hidden Treasures operations as assigned.

Team & Organizational Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with Hidden Treasures associates and volunteers and assist where needed to support efficient store operations.
• Attend required meetings and complete mandatory education by established deadlines.
• Follow VNA and Hidden Treasures policies, procedures, safety expectations, and Core Values in all aspects of the role.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid driver's license and acceptable driving record consistent with VNA requirements.
• Prior experience in delivery, moving, warehouse, retail, resale, donation pickup, customer service, or a similar environment preferred.
• Ability and willingness to perform both donation-driver and Sales Associate responsibilities based on operational needs.
• Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
