Job summary
VOA Michigan VOAMI seeks a reliable Donation Driver to support thrift store operations. You will pick up donations from residences and community sites, transport goods between stores and the warehouse, and assist with general warehouse labor.
The role requires a DOT card, clean driving record, ability to lift 75+ lbs, and familiarity with medium-duty truck operation. Strong customer service is essential, with occasional outdoor work and driving in varying weather.
Qualifications
- DOT physical card and clean driving record required.
- Ability to lift 75+ lbs and meet MIOSHA physical standards.
- Familiarity with medium-duty truck operation and maintenance.
- Ability to use GPS, complete reports, and operate handheld tech.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Safely pick up and deliver donations according to a set schedule
- Load and unload household items securely to prevent damage
- Plan efficient routes for multiple stops
- Maintain positive relationships with donors and store staff
- Perform general labor tasks at the warehouse
- Support inventory flow and remove non-sellable items
- Conduct routine maintenance on trucks and warehouse equipment
- Assist with minor mechanical issues when needed
