What You’ll Do

As a Donation Coordinator 2, you will directly contribute to LifeLink’s life-saving mission.

Respond to referrals for evaluation for potential tissue donation and complete the authorization or donor disclosure process with the next of kin. Perform activities related to screening for medical suitability, family approach, authorization, or donor designation, and coordinate the tissue donation process following LifeLink policies and procedures.

Night Shift Position (7pm - 7am)

Working conditions are fully supported in a 24/7 call center/office environment, with shifts up to 12 hours. May include working after business hours, weekends, and holidays. Potential for remote work consistent with LifeLink’s needs and company policy. Special circumstances may require additional hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify the legal next of kin, complete the approach process, communicate donation opportunities empathetically and professionally to grieving families, conduct the medical and social history interview, and complete the authorization or donor disclosure process.
• Perform a detailed donor evaluation to determine medical suitability based on established criteria, obtain contact information for family/next of kin approach, gather logistical information to coordinate the donation process, and achieve successful authorization or donor disclosure for tissue recovery.
• Interact with referring institutions/hospitals, medical examiner/coroner, and funeral home personnel to complete the tissue donation screening/evaluation process; communicate with appropriate personnel according to established protocols with exemplary customer service.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation of all processes following established procedures.
• Verify the accuracy of referral data entry and donation outcomes within the designated electronic system; review tissue referral activity reports for data entry accuracy.
• Participate in training and departmental quality review activities for donor screening and authorization/donor disclosure processes as directed by leadership.
• Attend and participate in required departmental meetings and workshops for ongoing education and professional development.

• Medical-related degree/certification. Experience in a related tissue banking position or appropriate experience in a medical environment or family/social services field preferred.
• Ability to multitask, perform in a high call volume environment, and work in a team setting.
• Ability to handle a work schedule that may require emergency coverage.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to converse with all levels of medical professionals.
• Ability to work independently adhering to prescribed guidelines and protocols while exercising good judgment in seeking guidance as required.
• Physical ability to lift and carry equipment up to 25 lbs.
