Job summary

Goodwill of South Central Wisconsin, Inc. is seeking a Donation Attendant to maximize store profitability by delivering best in class donor service, maintaining accurate donation records, and facilitating efficient material handling.

You will greet donors, issue receipts, sort items for pricing, operate non-powered material handling equipment, and help unload donations while following 5S and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to learn safe operation of power equipment (must be 18 years old and over).

Responsibilities

• Use GRATIS in donations; quickly and professionally greet, hand out a receipt, assist by involving the donor and safely handling their donation, thank and invite donor to donate again, then sort out items and leave to the HL station.
• Support efficient product flow as a material handler moving donations, trash and salvage to keep merchandise flowing to the sales floor.
• Anticipates problems, providing necessary assistance and supplies to all members of production team.
• Price product through 1 touch optimization using unit pricing or good/better/best.
• Safely unload furniture from donor vehicles (2 man lift over 40lbs) and place directly into store.
• Interact with co-workers, shoppers, and donors in a professional and pleasant manner.
• Maintain accurate donation counts by handing receipt to every donor, recording first and last receipt.
• Use non-powered (and powered for 18+) equipment to safely move containers.
• Assist with loading/unloading trailers safely and effectively.
• Maintain safe and clean work environment following 5S principles and safety guidelines.

General Summary:

The Donation Attendant maximizes store profitability providing best in class donor service, accurate donation records, and effective material handling. Your role helps us to build skills and change lives in each of our communities.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Use GRATIS in donations; quickly and professionally Greet, hand out a pre-signed and dated Receipt, Assist by involving the donor and safely handling their donation, Thank and Invite donor to donate again, then Sort out SLs and leave HL in container to give to a HL station
• Support efficient product flow as a material handler moving donations, trash and salvage to keep merchandise flowing to the sales floor
• Anticipates problems, providing necessary assistance and supplies to all members of production team
• Works the process, using unit pricing, or good/better/best to price product through 1 touch optimization
