Job summary

The Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking a Donated Goods Donation Attendant II to accurately receive and sort donated items at our Richmond facility.

The role requires daily prep and sorting to support textile and wares production, the ability to train others on electric lift stacker or forklift, and strict adherence to safety and privacy standards. Work hours include Mon–Thu 8:00am–4:30pm and Fri 7:30am–4:00pm.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must have completed Donation Attendant II training and successfully passed corresponding assessments.
  • Must be certified to train others on electric lift stacker or forklift.
  • The associate is not required to drive as part of their job duties.
  • The associate in this position will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check.
  • No computer skills are required.
  • Associates designated as "floaters" will be required to travel to multiple locations for work.

Position Summary

Responsible for the timely, safe and accurate receipt and sorting of goods collected from donors at Attended Donation Centers.

Physical Demands/Work Environment/Work Conditions


  • The associate is required to lift up to 50 pounds alone and to team lift 50 or more pounds. Must be able to lift 25 pounds above their head. Must be able to push and pull up to 500 pounds.

  • The associate works in an environment with frequent exposure to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.).

  • The associate must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as business needs dictate.

The job opening is for a Donated Goods Donation Attendant II. The applicant must be able to Identify and understand all types of salvage and differentiate between categories. Accurately separate and identify items for ecommerce, salvage, outlet, recyclable, trash, e-recycle and presort for retail stores. Sort donated goods in donations from unsorted raw product contained in Gaylord boxes and Tall blue bins from 6301 Production, Dock and ADC Sites. The applicant will work Monday thru Thursday from 8:00am to 4:30pm and Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm
