Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking a friendly Donation Attendant for our Granada Hills donation center. You will maintain and clean the donation area, assist donors in receiving receipts, and help with paperwork and sorting of donated items.

You will also support loading donations onto trucks and ensure the trailer is secured at shift end. Requires a high school diploma or GED and the ability to read, write, and follow instructions, plus strong communication with staff, donors,

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must pass a background check including criminal history and sex offender registry.
• Ability to read, write, and understand written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow staff, customers, and donors.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and cleaning up the area in and around the donation trailer/pod at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Assisting donors in the receipt of donated items and providing receipts.
• Maintaining all reports and paperwork as instructed by your supervisor.
• Separating and sorting all donated material into the proper containers, and stacking material as instructed by your supervisor.
• Assisting TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations onto trucks as necessary.
• Informing the supervisor of needed items prior to running out (e.g., brooms, receipts, tote bags, carts).
• Securing and locking the donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift.

Job Summary

Physical Demands

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
• Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks and miscellaneous carts.
• Ability to move product up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
• Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Work in outside weather conditions.

Schedule

Our donation center operates 7 days per week. Work schedules are determined by management and employees must be flexible to ensure adequate site coverage. Full‑time employees may be scheduled for any full‑time shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
