Job summary

The Salvation Army Granada Hills is seeking a Donation Attendant to support the Retail Team and ensure a positive donor experience. You will maintain the donation area, issue receipts, and help load donations onto trucks as needed. This role offers benefits and opportunities to grow with a mission-driven organization.

Applicants must pass background checks, be able to read and write, and communicate effectively with staff and donors. High school or equivalent required, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Must pass background check including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to read and write and to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow staff, customers, and donors.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and cleaning up the area in and around the Donation trailer/pod at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Assisting the donor in the receipt of donated items from the donor and provide receipt.
• Maintaining all reports and paperwork as instructed by Supervisor.
• Separating and sorting all donated material into the proper containers, and properly stack material as instructed by the Supervisor.
• Assisting TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations onto trucks as necessary.
• Informing the supervisor of needed items prior to running out (e.g.: brooms, receipts, totes, carts, etc.).
• Securing and locking Donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift.

As our enthusiastic and hardworking DONATION ATTENDANT, you will be responsible for (but not limited to):

Physical Demands:

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
• Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks and miscellaneous carts.
• Ability to move product up to 75lbs.
• Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
• Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
• Work in outside weather conditions

Schedule

Our Donation Center operates 7 days per week. Work schedules are determined by Management and employee must be flexible to always ensure adequate site coverage. Full-time employees may be scheduled to work any full-time shift including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
