Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external guests.
- Creates a welcoming atmosphere by greeting donors and safely unloading donations from vehicles.
- Accurately record donations.
- Ability to independently lift up to a maximum of 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate manual and or power equipment (depending on location).
- Responsible for keeping donation area clean and free of debris.
- Completes donor receipts and offers the donor a copy.
- Sorts donated items into designated categories.
- Follows prescribed safety and security practices including reporting safety, security hazards and injuries to the General Manager, Store Manager, or Assistant Manager.
- Maintains a clean, neat uniform and appearance.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists truck and driver helper load/unload donations into company vehicles.
- Performs general housekeeping duties as needed.
- Performs other duties as directed.
Required Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instruction in English for safety purposes and communication with management.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally with associates and customers.
- Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, bending, lifting, kneeling and climbing for prolonged periods of time (up to 7 hours - per 8 hour shift)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of six months of previous work experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Previous experience working in a warehouse environment.
- Previous pallet packing and forklift experience.
- Basic computer skills.
- Multilingual with proficiency in English.
