Job summary

Goodwill of Northern Illinois is seeking a part-time Retail Associate at the Machesney Park store in Machesney Park, IL 61115. The role offers $15.50-$19.00 per hour in a retail setting with weekend/evening shifts. You will assist donors, process donations, and keep store criteria for textiles and hard goods.

The position requires safe operation of equipment, accurate data entry, and adherence to company policies while delivering friendly service to customers.

Qualifications

• Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with the public and customers.
• Ability to count, add, and subtract.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Ability to follow all safety rules.
• Must be able to operate a pricing gun and price merchandise appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Provide responsive and respectful service to donors and customers.
• Assist in unloading vehicles and handling donations.
• Educate donors on the “Can’t Use” list and recall items; provide tax information.
• Process hard goods and textiles according to store standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
• Track donations and zip codes in the laptop.
• Prepare and receive trucks.
• Comply with safety rules and use equipment like pallet jacks and dollies.
