Job summary

Goodwill is seeking a motivated team member to support inventory management in a fast-paced retail environment. You’ll sort, process, and prepare donated merchandise for display and sale in our retail store, helping shoppers find quality items.

Key duties include transferring merchandise to determine suitability for the floor, sorting by brand and salability, pricing and shelving, counting items for logs, and maintaining safety and organization.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instruction.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally with associates and customers.
• Ability to perform continuous walking, standing, bending, lifting and climbing for prolonged periods.
• Ability to lift max of 25 lbs pounds frequently.

Responsibilities

• Transfers merchandise from containers to determine appropriateness for the sales floor.
• Stays abreast of brand name, designer labels, current and vintage styles.
• Prepare items for the sales floor. Evaluate items to determine quality, pricing, value and salability.
• Counts number of items processed and records on official log.
• Sorts apparel into boutique, salable, and salvage categories according to quota.
• Places items on hangers, places hangers on rolling rack, and transports them to the sales floor keeping similar items grouped.
• Counts pieces of clothing and records on Daily Hanger Report.
• Follows safety and security practices including reporting hazards to the manager on duty.
• Maintains productivity quotas and a neat uniform and appearance.
• Assists in the collection and stocking of donated merchandise.
• Provides excellent service to Donors and retail customers.
