Job summary

50 R B Hinkle Construction Inc is seeking a Journeyman Lineman to construct, maintain, and repair electrical distribution and transmission systems across the United States. This role requires deep electrical knowledge, the ability to read schematics, and operating heavy line equipment.

You will work with a team to complete projects, comply with safety standards, and be available for on-call and emergency assignments. Prior apprenticeship and a valid CDL-A are essential for consideration.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Journeyman Lineman apprenticeship program.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with an acceptable driving record.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Journeyman Lineman.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical theory, distribution and transmission systems.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment and specialized line tools.
  • Able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Strong safety discipline and PPE adherence.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and troubleshooting ability.
  • Team-focused with ability to work independently.

  • Collaborate with crew members and supervisors to complete projects safely and efficiently.
  • Work in various weather conditions and be available for on-call and emergency work.
  • Maintain records of work performed, materials used, and time spent.
  • Train and mentor apprentice linemen as needed.

Job description

JOB OVERVIEW

This position is responsible for constructing, maintaining, and repairing electrical overhead and underground distribution and transmission systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical power lines and cables, including poles, towers, and underground conduits.
  • Perform emergency repairs and restoration of power during outages.
  • Operate and maintain various tools and equipment, including bucket trucks, digger derricks, and other specialized line equipment.
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and circuit diagrams.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Inspect and test electrical systems and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
  • Collaborate with crew members and supervisors to complete projects efficiently and safely.
  • Perform duties in various weather conditions and be available for on‑call and emergency work as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job.
  • Train and mentor apprentice linemen as needed.
