Job summary

Primoris Services Corporation seeks a Journeyman Lineman to safely construct, maintain, and repair overhead and underground electrical distribution and transmission systems across diverse job sites.

You will climb poles, operate bucket trucks and specialized vehicles, and work in accordance with OSHA and NESC standards. A Journeyman certification, apprenticeship completion, and a Class A CDL are required, with at least 4 years of field experience.

Qualifications

  • Requires a High School Diploma or GED and completion of an accredited Journeyman Lineman apprenticeship.
  • Must hold a valid Journeyman Lineman certification and a CDL Class A with a clean record.
  • Minimum 4 years of Journeyman Lineman experience in distribution/transmission work.
  • Strong knowledge of safety procedures, grounding, and lock-out/tag-out.

Responsibilities

  • Construct, maintain, and repair overhead and underground electrical lines.
  • Set poles and perform climbing, framing, and wire-stringing tasks with equipment.
  • Install substations, switchgear, and related components.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and restore power efficiently.
  • Follow OSHA and NESC standards and complete paperwork accurately.
  • Operate company vehicles safely and work as part of a crew; participate in on-call rotations.

Job description

Job Overview: As a Journeyman Lineman at Primoris Services Corporation, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical overhead and underground distribution and transmission systems.

Responsibilities
  • Construct, maintain, and repair overhead and underground electrical lines, including poles, towers, conductors, transformers, and related equipment.
  • Perform duties such as setting poles, climbing poles, framing poles, stringing wire, operating various pieces of heavy equipment, and working with both energized and de-energized lines.
  • Install and maintain electrical infrastructure, including substations, switchgear, and other related components.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical system issues, making necessary repairs to restore power.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards, including OSHA and NESC.
  • Operate and maintain company vehicles and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Work effectively as part of a crew, demonstrating strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergency outages as required.
  • Complete required paperwork and documentation accurately and on time.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Journeyman Lineman apprenticeship program.
  • Valid Journeyman Lineman certification.
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Journeyman Lineman.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical distribution and transmission systems, including construction, maintenance, and repair techniques.
  • Proficiency in operating various tools and equipment used in lineman work, including bucket trucks, digger derricks, and other specialized vehicles.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures, grounding practices, and lock-out/tag-out protocols.
  • Ability to climb poles, work at heights, and lift heavy objects.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions and travel to different job sites as needed.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
