Job summary

AIT Worldwide Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Domestic Customer Tracking Agent I to join our team. You will track and trace shipments, update statuses with detailed notes, and communicate with field offices and networks to maintain on-time performance.

The role emphasizes teamwork, a strong work ethic, and a growth mindset. Prior experience in freight forwarding and AS400/MS Office skills are valuable assets. This is an on-site position in Palatine, IL.

Qualifications

• High School/GED is required or equivalent, associates degree preferred.
• Experience in customer service or tracking in freight forwarding is beneficial.
• Knowledge of U.S. geography and airport codes a plus.
• Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Track and trace shipments to ensure proper movement and delivery.
• Update shipments with current status and comprehensive notes.
• Communicate daily with field offices and carrier networks to ensure on-time performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve service disruptions.
• Maintain familiarity with conditions requiring special services and accurately enter data costs.
• Answer departmental phone lines and emails.
• Foster trusting relationships with agent/carrier networks.

Overview

AIT is seeking a talented and motivated Domestic Customer Tracking Agent I to join our team to track and trace shipments with high accuracy. The team ensures that shipments are updated timely, troubleshoots service disruptions, and communicates service delays.

Responsibilities

• Track and trace shipments as necessary to ensure proper movement and delivery Participates in the development and use of suitable sales forecasting processes and models.
• Update shipments with current shipment status to include comprehensive notes
• Communicate daily with AIT field offices as well as AIT’s agent/carrier networks to ensure on-time performance
• Troubleshoot and resolve service disruptions
• Maintain familiarity with conditions that require special services and ensure accurate data entry of these costs
• Answer Departmental phone lines and emails
• Cultivate and foster trusting relationships with AIT’s agent/carrier networks
• The wage range for this position is $20.80-$29.40 and may vary based on geography as well as relative knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience.

Other Skills We Hope to See:

• High School/GED required - Associates degree in Business, Logistics or Supply Chain preferred
• Minimum of 1 year Customer Service or Tracking experience in a freight forwarding environment
• Prior experience working with AS400 a plus
• Knowledge of U.S. geography and airport codes a plus
• Basic to intermediate PC skills - MS Office
• Ability effectively prioritize and manage time and tasks
• Detailed Oriented
• Excellent organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
• Strong Communication skills both verbal and written
