Job summary

Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Domestic Assistant (Band 2) to join the hotel services team at the Royal Victoria Infirmary and Freeman Hospital. The role focuses on cleaning wards, departments and theatres to the highest standards in line with infection control and national cleanliness guidelines.

Full-time and part-time posts are available with varied shifts. Training will be provided with clear development plans, and DBS checks are part of the process where required.

Qualifications

• Literate – basic education
• Understanding of infection control in relation to cleanliness
• Understanding of Health and Safety
• Knowledge of COSHH

Responsibilities

• To perform cleaning and other associated tasks in any ward, department, operating theatre, laboratory, corridor, catering area, office or residential accommodation as required.
• Maintain high cleanliness standards in line with infection control guidelines and national standards.
• No experience is essential as training will be provided and tailored development plans discussed for future progression.
