Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking a Domestic Assistant to join the Domestic Services Team within the Ambulance Station, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis. The post is Band 2 with 15 hours per week on a permanent contract, pro rata salary listed.

The successful candidate will perform a wide range of cleaning duties to maintain high standards of cleanliness and service provision, work with new staff, and follow Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers; PVG scheme clearance required.

• Band 2 - £26,696 - £28,988 pro rata


• Plus £1,461 Distant Island Allowance pro rata


• 15.00 hrs per week


• Permanent Contract

An opportunity has arisen for a Domestic Assistant post, to join our Domestic Services Team within the Ambulance Station, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, HS1.

The successful candidate will provide will be required to undertake a wide range of cleaning duties associated with maintaining a high standard of cleanliness always ensuring that a high-quality service provision.

To work alongside and support new staff in the working environment.

The primary work base will be within the Western isles Hospital, Macaulay Road, Stornoway, Isles of Lewis.

The successful candidate will need to achieve the Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers and comply with the Code of Conduct within three months of full-time employment or up to six months for part time workers. For further information see www.hcswtoolkit.nes.scot.nhs.uk

The successful applicant will be required to register with the PVG Scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme). This post is not eligible for relocation expenses.
