Job summary

Arizona Science Center is seeking a DOME Experience Pilot for its Dorrance DOME in Phoenix. This part-time, on-site role involves piloting immersive dome shows, supporting AV operations, and ensuring a safe, engaging guest experience.

The ideal candidate brings strong guest service, clear communication, and the ability to handle busy environments. The position offers the chance to work with cutting-edge dome technology and participate in public science education initiatives.

Qualifications

• Strong guest service mindset and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to stay calm and helpful in busy environments with high guest volume.
• Reliability, punctuality, and ability to follow procedures and supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move/reconfigure seating and equipment.
• Passion for science, education, and informal learning.

Responsibilities

• Pilot Dorrance DOME shows with start/stop sequences and run-of-show support.
• Ensure positive guest experiences, assist guests, and manage exit flow.
• Work varied weekday evenings and weekends based on programming needs.
• Assist with ticket-taking and Dorrance DOME entry, line management, and accessibility.
• Coordinate with management for program blocks, transitions, and audio/lighting levels.
• Manage and program in-house cameras, lighting, and audio during shows.
• Log, track, and report issues across presentation systems and theater amenities.
• Assist in LED module removal and replacement as needed.
• Monitor and maintain theatrical effects (audio, video, lighting).
• Prepare event materials, signage, and pre-show readiness.
