Job summary

AFP Advanced Food Products LLC is seeking a Dole Operator for the 2nd shift (2p-10p) in Clear Lake, WI. You will operate canning and filling equipment, support quality and package integrity, and assist with changeovers and maintenance coordination.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, the ability to work extended hours, and flexibility for alternating shifts. Benefits and competitive pay are provided by the employer.

Responsibilities

• Operate canning and filling equipment to quality and safety standards.

• Support changeovers, shutdowns, and startups.
• Inform maintenance of machine issues and assist with fixes.
• Complete cover usage sheets and communicate shift handoffs.
• Follow plant safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Why We Need You:

The Dole Operator is crucial for ensuring the efficient operation of canning and filling equipment. Your role directly impacts the quality and safety of our products, making you an essential part of our production team.

A Day in the Life:

• Operate canning and filling equipment to the highest standards of quality and safety.
• Assist the Canner Operator in maintaining product quality, including package quality of can ends and double seams.
• Thoroughly clean the canner following production runs.
• Lubricate the canner thoroughly before and during production runs as needed.
• Help with product changeovers, shutdowns, and startups.
• Inform maintenance of any machine difficulties and collaborate on solutions.
• Accurately complete cover usage sheets.
• Coordinate with the incoming shift to communicate any problems, issues, or concerns.
• Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to plant rules and regulatory requirements.
• Understand the concept of sterility on the Dole Canner and seal integrity in plastic filling equipment.
• Be available to work more than eight hours per day and over 40 hours per week as necessary.
• Be willing to work alternating shifts as required.
• Comply with all food safety, quality, and customer requirements.

Requirements:

Your Working Relationships:

You will work closely with the Canner Operator, Maintenance, and other Dole Operators to ensure smooth operations. You are expected to communicate effectively with your team to address any issues that arise.

To successfully perform the essential functions of this role, the employee must be able to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–12 hours per shift).
• Frequently bend, stoop, twist, and reach overhead.
• Lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, and arms.
• Operate machinery and tools requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity.
• Tolerate exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and noise levels in a production environment.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection
