Aunt Wendy’s Dog Care LLC has been providing dog care services for over 18 years in Maplewood, NJ. We offer a hybrid of dog pack walking and day care services and are a familiar presence around town. We are looking to expand our services to South Orange, West Orange, Livingston, Millburn/Short Hills, Summit, Springfield, Westfield, Hoboken, Jersey City, and other neighboring towns.

The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial, self-starting dog lover who enjoys the outdoors. The Dog Walker/Pack Leader is responsible for creating and managing your own dog pack.

Responsibilities include:

1. Pickup & drop off daily dogs Monday - Friday and some holidays (goal 6-12 dogs)
2. Walk dogs using specialized hands-free harnessing system (training provided)
3. Supervise and maintain an orderly play period
4. Develop and maintain relationships with pet parents
5. Record daily attendance
6. Responsible for local sales & marketing to grow territory (with support from owner)
7. Capture pictures of dogs for pet parents and social media
8. Walk in all weather conditions, snow, rain, or shine
9. Provide overnight care (at your home or pet parent’s home) for additional income opportunities

The ideal Dog Walker/Pack Leader:

• Is comfortable with dogs of all breeds and sizes and LOVES dogs
• Is personable and reliable
• Has an understanding of dog behavior and body language
• Is career-minded and an entrepreneurial self-starter
• Is detail-oriented and keeps accurate records
• Is physically capable of lifting up to 40 lbs
• Holds a valid NJ driver’s license with a good driving record
• Owns a car with current insurance and registration
• Preferred: Home with outside fenced area and indoor space for play
• Preferred: Living space allowing for dogs to sleep over for additional income
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Must have US citizenship or valid US work authorization

Compensation is based on a revenue share model per dog walked, with potential earnings of $50k - $100k+ annually depending on the number of dogs in the pack. Additional income opportunities include sleepovers. This is an employee position, not independent contracting.
