REQUIRED: Full-time schedule, Monday-Friday, established residency in San Francisco, Daly City, or Sausalito/Mill Valley. We will not hire from the North, South, or East Bay.

We are always looking to meet quality candidates who could effectively lead OFF LEASH GROUPS of dogs through open space at parks and beaches with us. Teacher, dog trainer, coach, boot camp instructor, friend, confidant...we wear a lot of hats with these dogs, and sometimes they eat them!

REQUIREMENTS:

Available for full-time shifts Monday-Friday, 10am-4pm. No part-time shifts available.
Live in SF or within 5 miles (Sorry, no Bay Bridge commuters).
Able to commit to a year or more.
Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
No previous experience required! Training and permits provided.
Athletic, energetic, and looking to stay fit.
Friendly, outgoing, and customer-savvy.
Extreme patience.
Eager to learn and teach.
Ready to become a professional at this job.

We provide company vehicles. If you have your own truck, van, SUV, or wagon, we pay $1 more per hour plus mileage reimbursement.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead groups of dogs off-leash in open spaces shared with the public and other professionals.
Learn to analyze and diagnose dog training needs and perform dog training activities to build safe, prosocial behaviors.
Communicate with clients and managers about problems, successes, and ongoing daily activities.
Work interdependently in a team of at least 10 other walkers and 2 managers.
Navigate pickup and drop-off routes and client home instructions efficiently and safely.
Help track and maintain company vehicle needs.

SKILLS:

Problem solving, verbal and written communication, customer service, leadership, professional judgment, self-organization, safety, adaptability, patience, initiative, creativity, teamwork, geographic navigation.

PAY:

Trainee: $22/hr
Dogtoral Candidate: $22.50/hr
Puppy Professor: $23/hr
Dean Of Dogs: $24/hr

After one year, teammates can earn up to $45k and 15+ paid days off annually. Use of your own vehicle adds $1/hr and mileage reimbursement. Bonuses available for signing new clients or positive reviews. Pet sitting offers additional income opportunities.

CAREER GROWTH:

Shadow for a week, then start picking up your own packs of dogs. Training increases from $22 to $22.50, then $23/hr after training. Certification and permits are provided ($800-$1000 value). The longer you stay, learn, and grow, the more you earn and advance into leadership roles.

HOURS:

Typical shifts are 6-8 hours, Monday-Friday, ~10am-4pm. No nights, weekends, or holidays required. Extra income through private walks, pet sitting, and private lessons is available.

TEAM:

Currently 13 members, aged 20-35, who enjoy working with dogs and each other. More info at our team page.
