Job summary

CTO Dog Training is seeking a dependable Training Apprentice to assist with daily care, supervision, and enrichment of training dogs in a safe environment. The role involves feeding, supervising play, and supporting client communication while maintaining high cleanliness standards.

The position offers exposure to hands-on training concepts and a collaborative team atmosphere in a dog-friendly setting, with the base pay of $16.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• A genuine love for dogs and interest in training/behavior.
• Responsible and punctual with strong attention to detail.
• Able to follow directions and work independently or with a team.
• Willingness to work outdoors and handle physical tasks (lifting, walking, cleaning).
• Reliable transportation to and from our facility in South Jersey.
• Available to work weekdays and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Feed dogs based on individual diets and schedules.
• Ensure fresh, clean water is always available.
• Observe and report any changes in health or behavior to senior staff.
• Clean and sanitize kennels, crates, feeding bowls, and play areas.
• Handle and dispose of pet waste responsibly during let-outs.
• Let dogs out for bathroom breaks on a rotating schedule.
• Supervise dogs during playtime or outdoor exercise.
• Assist with leash walking or group play sessions (as directed).
• Restock food, treats, and cleaning supplies.
• Wash and fold laundry (dog beds, towels, etc.).
• Help with dog check-in/out and occasional client communication
