Job summary

Destination Pet in Irving, TX is hiring a Dog Trainer to join our team on a part-time basis with flexible hours. The role reports to the General Manager and offers $12.00–$14.00 per hour DOE plus 5% commission, with benefits including Telehealth, a 401K and Pet Insurance, and DailyPay access.

The trainer will create training plans, teach commands, and guide pet parents on dog behavior while engaging in occasional add-on services and safe handling practices. Evening and weekend work is required.

Qualifications

• One year of professional dog training experience required.
• Training certification preferred.
• Knowledge of various dog commands.
• Knowledge of different dog breeds.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• CGC Evaluator, AKC Evaluator.

Responsibilities

• Create a training plan for the dog.
• Teach commands to the dog and pet parent.
• Be patient with a stubborn dog.
• Teach pet parents about dog behavior.
• Understand a pet parent’s needs.
• Work with the pet parent to teach them about their dog.
• Teach pet parents how to reinforce good behavior.
