Fairfield County Ohio is seeking a Shelter Attendant to assist the Dog Warden in caring for all dogs at the county shelter. This role focuses on kennel cleanliness, safety, and daily husbandry of the animals.
Responsibilities include feeding, walking, bathing dogs; admin of intake exams and vaccinations with authorization; supervising volunteers; and providing customer service for adoptions and inquiries. Requires physical ability and valid Ohio driver’s license.
Under the supervision of the Dog Warden, the Shelter Attendant is responsible for the upkeep of all dogs at the shelter while maintaining cleanliness of the kennel and grounds. Ensures shelter safety by following standard operating procedures.
Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Tuesday, Thursday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Saturday and Sunday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Please note that while the shelter is closed on Sundays, working both weekend days is a mandatory requirement for this role. Employees can expect to receive consecutive days off during the week, such as Tuesday and Wednesday or Wednesday and Thursday.
