Job summary

LH Mercantile, LLC is seeking a full-time dog groomer to deliver high-quality grooming services at our neighborhood Pet Supplies Plus franchise location in the Chicago suburbs area. You will perform breed-standard cuts, maintain cleanliness, and ensure pets are comfortable and well-cared-for during visits.

We offer a team-oriented environment with a tiered commission, weekly pay, medical benefits, a 401(k), PTO, and opportunities for career advancement, plus free grooming training access.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a grooming school or 2+ years of professional grooming experience.
• Proficiency in breed-standard cuts and grooming techniques.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform grooming and styling per pet parent requests and breed standards.
• Complete all aspects of grooming including brushing, bathing, and nail trims.
• Monitor pets in care and respond to signs of stress or health concerns.
• Build trust with neighbors through excellent service and recommendations.
• Keep grooming areas sanitary, organized, and safe.

What You'll Do:

• Perform grooming and styling per pet parent requests and breed standards with consistency and professionalism.
• Complete all aspects of grooming (brushing, bathing, nail trims, etc.) to ensure pets look and feel their best.
• Monitor pets in your care, follow handling best practices, and respond appropriately to signs of stress or health concerns.
• Build trust with neighbors by providing excellent service, clear communication, and thoughtful product/service recommendations.
• Keep grooming areas sanitary, organized, and inviting in alignment with safety and animal care standards.

What We're Looking For:

• Graduate of a grooming school OR 2+ years of professional grooming experience
• Proficiency in breed-standard cuts and grooming techniques
• Must supply your own professional grooming tools
• Adherence of salon safety procedures and industry standards
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
