Job summary

Destination Pet’s Norwichtown Pet Resort is seeking an experienced groomer to transform dogs to their best look while ensuring owner communication and safety. You’ll work Monday through Friday in a fast-paced, dog-friendly environment.

You will trim, bathe, and style according to breed standards, discuss care with owners, and maintain a clean, organized station. Join a team committed to compassionate care and community.

Qualifications

• Professional grooming experience required.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Safe handling of large or nervous dogs.

Responsibilities

• Snipping, shaping, and styling pets based on owner preferences or breed standards.
• Trimming nails, cleaning ears, brushing teeth, and tidying up the tail end.
• Bathing dogs (or working with bathers to prep pets for grooming).
• Chatting with pet parents about grooming needs, coat care, and trends in tails.
• Keeping your station neat, your tools sharp, and your vibe fresh.
• Tagging in the front desk when pups are fluffed, puffed, and ready for pickup.
• Providing a calm, kind, safe experience for every animal in your care.
• Representing Destination Pet’s values of compassion, quality, and community.

What You Should Know

• Professional grooming experience is required.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and manage large or nervous dogs safely.
• Exposure to fur, cleaning chemicals, wet pups, ahem, “accidents” and unpredictable zoomies is guaranteed.
• Must be able to work in a physically active environment with heat, cold, water, and noise.
