Sage Haus in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a part-time House Manager & Family Assistant to keep a fast-paced home organized and welcoming. This role focuses on household systems, pet care for two sheepadoodles, meal prep, errands, and light administrative support for a busy physician family.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, physically capable, and comfortable with dogs and travel. 15-20 hours per week with some flexibility; start ASAP. A background check is required.

Qualifications

• Able to maintain a smoke-free and vape-free environment.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Reliable personal transportation with a clean driving record; mileage reimbursement provided for work-related errands.
• CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain).
• Vaccinations up to date per AA Pediatric and CDC guidelines (including COVID-19 and influenza).
• Comfortable with dogs and structured care routines.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. as needed.
• Navigate stairs as part of daily duties.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of household organization systems, especially high-clutter zones like kitchen, entryway, mudroom, and storage areas.
• Perform daily surface resets: wipe counters, sweep, tidy, vacuum high-traffic areas.
• Prepare home for bi-weekly cleaning service.
• Handle mail and package intake; recycle boxes.
• Refresh and maintain garage, mudroom, and entryway drop zones.
• Coordinate seasonal transitions and holiday decor setup/takedown.
• Coordinate donation drop-offs for items.
• Prepare guest spaces with fresh bedding and towels.
• Pack/unpack for travel; restock before return.
• Change batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detectors; monthly AC filter changes.
• Manage household supply lists; online orders and errands.
• Process returns and occasional gift shopping.
• Prepare 1-2 dinners per week and occasional lunches; organize ingredients; keep kitchen clean and stocked.
• Wash, fold, and put away all laundry; keep clothing and linens organized.
• Provide daily feeding and care for two sheepadoodles; walk dogs.
• Keep family vehicles fueled, clean, and organized; track maintenance dates.
• Occasional school pickup/drop-off coverage; potential date-night babysitting as relationship develops.
• Coordinate with service providers; gather quotes; manage seasonal property tasks.
• Maintain household calendar; track receipts and expenses; coordinate dinners and errands.
