Job summary

Akima Systems Engineering (ASE) is seeking a System Administrator (VDI SME) to manage and secure 300+ VMs across VOEs with varying classifications at Camp H M Smith, HI.

You will ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability following IT standards, work closely with developers and cybersecurity staff, and support after-hours for outages and COOP readiness. A TS clearance and applicable 8570 certs are required.

Qualifications

• Active TS clearance and eligible for SCI.
• Must meet DoD IA requirements per DoDM 8410.03.
• Must hold ONE of the listed 8570 IAT-II certifications.
• Minimum High School Diploma/GED.
• 3+ years of VMware vCenter & Horizon View experience.
• Experience securing VMWare/Windows in a DoD environment.
• Familiar with STIGs and ESS architecture.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, install, update, and secure OSes and apps using VMware tools.
• Monitor security and performance logs; manage ServiceNow tickets; provide expert recommendations.
• Create, update VOE SOPs; deliver monthly status reports; support outages and COOP testing.
