The Manager of Transportation will foster a culture focused on people, safety, service, and cost through meaningful engagement with drivers, delivering best-in-class service to customers, and ensuring safe and profitable operations. They will leverage their transportation operations experience to manage personnel and drive efficient operations, ensuring safe, accurate, and timely outbound shipments to customers and distribution centers.
This application is only available to active-duty service members eligible for a DoD SkillBridge Internship. The service member must be within the last 12 months of their active-duty contract. This is an unpaid, non-benefit eligible internship in partnership with the DoD SkillBridge program.
Direct: Union and/or non-union drivers
Internal: Transportation leaders, drivers, warehouse and sales teams
External: Customers
Primarily on the road, exposed to noise and vibration; time in an office working on a computer.
Experience in transportation/delivery or warehouse distribution (≥3 years), with at least 1 year overseeing a workforce. Driving experience is a plus.
Broad transportation operations knowledge, leadership, communication, understanding of DOT and regulatory requirements, ability to interpret data, and basic computer skills.
Approximately 10%, mainly for meetings and training.
High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
Ability to perform activities such as driving, pushing/pulling, climbing, grasping, manipulating objects, and manual dexterity for specified durations.
Compensation ranges from $55,000 to $90,000 depending on experience, education, skills, and location.
