Job summary

Atlas Tech in North Charleston, SC, is seeking an Information Assurance Analyst Intern to support RMF A&A efforts for naval software systems. The role involves cybersecurity analysis, vulnerability assessments, and policy implementation in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

You will work with engineers to remediate vulnerabilities, apply DoD/NIST guidance, and contribute to technical publications while pursuing IA/cybersecurity studies. Eligible U.S.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required and security clearance eligibility.
• Active enrollment in an IA or Cybersecurity degree program.
• DoD 8140/8570 Certifications (IAT II) or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Knowledge of security engineering, design concepts, and principles.
• Experience with modern networks, operating systems, databases, and virtual computing.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; teamwork-oriented.
• Ability to balance multiple goals and priorities; self-motivated.

• Perform RMF/NIST-based certification and testing activities.
• Notify relevant teams of CYBERCOM IAV announcements; ensure policy compliance.
• Update technical publications and system security documentation as required.

Atlas Tech is seeking an Information Assurance Analyst Intern to join the Information Systems Security Engineering team to perform analysis and evaluation of the Information Security of Naval software systems. The analyst will be responsible for assisting in the technical implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) services by conducting cybersecurity and risk assessments on systems to identify and mitigate technical and non-technical vulnerabilities.

You Will

• Perform analysis and evaluation to design, implement, test and field secure systems, networks, and architectures
• Evaluate information systems security policies ensuring system security requirements are addressed during all phases of the acquisition and Information System (IS) lifecycle
• Conduct vulnerability scans, reports, asset creation/modification, and policy creation/modification using ACAS Security Center
• Collaborate with engineers to remediate identified vulnerabilities or develop mitigations
• Conduct certification and testing in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) policy
• Notify PORs, developers and Subject Matter Experts of CYBERCOM IAV announcements
• Implement and apply DoD, DoN, CNSS, and NIST policy, instruction, and requirements
• Update technical publications such as Technical Plans, Analyses and Reports, Risk Assessments, Cybersecurity Strategy, Test Plans, procedures and reports, System Security Plans, checklist, Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) and related documentation

You Have

• U.S. Citizenship
• A minimum of a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance or be able to obtain an interim security clearance prior to hire date
• DoD 8140\8570 Certifications to be qualified as an Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II, e.g. CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
• Knowledge of security engineering, design concepts, and principles
• Experience with modern networks, operating systems, databases, and virtual computing
• Maintain Cybersecurity awareness throughout development
• Experience Identifying and resolving issues encountered during testingThe capacity to collaborate with systems, network, and software SMEs to gather information
• The ability to maintain data integrity and cyber compliance
• Strong customer relations, documentation, and oral communication skills
• Self-Motivated, strong work ethic, and commitment to quality
• Possess passion for providing quality and technically sound solutions
• Ability to multi-task and balance multiple goals and priorities
• Actively enrolled in an Information Assurance or Cybersecurity degree program at an accredited university or technical college
