Allied Universal Technology Services is actively seeking Installation Technicians for a DoD SkillBridge Internship in Santa Ana, CA, and additional locations. The role involves installing and configuring electronic security systems such as door access, CCTV, and intrusion detection, while managing low-voltage wiring and related hardware.

A proactive, skilled individual is expected to align with the company’s core values. Applicants must be active-duty U.S.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in the physical security, fire alarm or low voltage industry.
• NICET certification is a plus.
• Experience with access control, video management, intrusion detection, and fire alarm systems.
• Ability to travel within Southern California and out of state as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install, program and configure commercial electronic security systems for enterprise clients.
• Troubleshoot installations to ensure proper operation and codes compliance.
• Supervise junior technicians on a job as assigned by the Installation Manager.
• Drive to client sites with a company vehicle and verify system operates per contract.
• Run electrical wiring, including drilling, trenching, and aerial runs.
• Connect control panels and install security software.
• Wrap up job-site with cleanup tasks.

Position Overview

Allied Universal® Technology Services is looking to hireInstallation Technicians. TheInstallation Technicianwill perform installations of electronic control systems, which may include door access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, low-voltage communication, and fire alarm systems, including cable management, electronic locks, point sensors, signaling devices, and associated hardware. As anInstallation Technician, this person is expected to be a highly proactive and skilled individual and, at all times, maintain performance consistent with Allied Universal Technology Services' core values.

Requirements

Must possess a valid driver’s license with at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record (no major violations within the last 36 months, no more than 1 accident in last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violation in last 24 months), a minimum level of insurance as required by company policy, and the ability to safely operate a vehicle.

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in the physical security, fire alarm or low voltage communication industry, including installing field devices, programming systems, and running medium- to large-sized jobs, are required
• NICET certification is a plus
• Experience with access control, video management, intrusion detection, and fire alarm systems, or any of the following is preferred:
  • Lenel/S2, Software House, AMAG, Brivo, Open Options
  • Avigilon, Genetec, Exacqvision, Milestone, ONSSI, Axis, American Dynamics, and Eagle Eye
  • DMP, Bosch, and Commend
  • Edwards, Notifier, Firelite
• Must be able to travel and drive throughout Southern California and out of state, such as AZ, MN, UT, and CO, as needed

Scope of Work

• Install, program and configure commercial electronic security systems for enterprise commercial clients (door access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, low voltage communication, electronic locks, point sensors, signaling devices, et cetera)
• Troubleshoot new security installations to ensure the systems are functioning properly and satisfy codes
• Supervise Installation Technician I’s on a job as assigned by the Installation Manager
• Drive to client sites with a company issued vehicle, to perform the system installation and confirm the system is operating effectively and meets contract requirements
• Run electrical wiring; related activities include drilling, trenching, and aerial runs.
• Responsible for the connection of control panels, application requirements, wire concealment, and security software installation.
• Complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned, such as job-site clean-up

Qualifications

• Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast based environment with minimum direction
• Good communication skills for effective interaction with internal & external customers
• Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to be on-call on a rotational basis
• Must be detail-oriented and organized
• Ability to complete time entry from home on a daily basis via the Internet
• Ability to deliver product familiarization training to end-users
