Position Description

This position requires a background check, MVR, and physical/drug screening. The TAIT apprentice will be trained as a Service Technician, playing a key role in environmental compliance. Service Technicians test, maintain, and repair refueling equipment for the petroleum industry, including commercial and municipal facilities, marinas, and airports. They ensure compliance with regulatory directives and work closely with clients, performing maintenance and troubleshooting independently. They also identify and document compliance issues.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Complete required training classes to obtain certifications.
  • Obtain a 40-hour HAZWOPER certificate after initial 4-week training.
  • Train in the field with experienced technicians, including inspections and testing per state regulations.
  • Diagnose and repair UST & AST systems.
  • Use handheld tools such as pipe wrenches, pipe threaders, voltmeters.
  • Complete and submit project paperwork timely.
  • Enter inspection data into online systems.
  • Maintain daily work logs and timecards.
  • Drive company vehicles to client sites.
  • Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Work independently and self-direct.
Minimum Experience
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive extensively (up to 1,000 miles/week).
  • Experience with handheld tools.
  • Organizational and scheduling skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, email, and Microsoft Office.
Education and Skills
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to review and interpret reports and documents.
  • Professional interaction with team and clients.
Physical/Additional Requirements
  • Background check, MVR, physical/drug screening.
  • Climbing ladders, lifting, carrying tools and parts.
  • Walking, driving, climbing, kneeling, standing at job sites.
  • Clear and professional communication skills.
  • Ability to work on various surfaces and environments.
